In kids’ closets, we always include a designated bin for clothes they've outgrown. When the basket fills up, it's the perfect cue to sort and donate — no more overflowing drawers or last-minute donation runs.
✅ Battery Recycling Station
We keep an "old batteries" bin in our entryway closet to ensure used and new batteries stay separate. Once the bin is full, we drop it off at Mom’s Organic Market in the Mosaic District for responsible recycling.
✅ Stair Baskets for Daily Pickups
Each of our kids has their own basket on the stairs. Throughout the day, random odds and ends are tossed into the baskets. Before screen time, the kids are responsible for bringing their items to their rooms and putting them away — a simple system that keeps clutter in check.

In our living room, we have a “library basket” dedicated to new kids' picture books. When it’s time to return them, we know exactly where to find every last one — no more scrambling or late fees!
✅ Locker Notes for Weekly Reminders
We post reminder notes inside our kids’ lockers for recurring tasks like “Jack’s school library book is due on Tuesdays.” It’s a simple visual prompt that keeps them (and us!) on track.
